Summers avoid Crash and get good news

Hey Guys,

The boys thought I (Crash) should do the blog this week as I had an interesting weekend. Firstly, I hope everyone is well and keeping out of trouble?

Well, we had a Saturday night off so I decided to go out with a few mates to a club in Watford. Now for those of you who don’t live in the UK, Watford is about an hour and half drive from Southampton. It decided to snow and as everyone knows, the UK comes to a standstill in snow. We were sat on the M25 for hours… which was fine until we ran out of booze, which caused me to panic!!!

The snow was so bad the car got stuck, so we had to get out and push it up a hill avoiding cars and lorries, and trying not to crash (no pun intended). I found out something that night… Cowboy boots have NO grip in the snow. We started out at 9pm and got there 4 hours later at 1am.

OK, we finally made it to the club and luckily there were still people in there. The manager took us straight to the VIP area, got us a bottle of Jack, and gave us way too many drink vouchers (it pays to know the right people) … Now I hope that would explain why at 10am, I was found asleep on the dance floor in the disco room on top of a lot of coats from lost property. I think I had a good night, but it was the morning which I did not like.

However, on reflection of the night, I have decided I am not giving up drinking, but instead, I am going to give up getting up the next day. NOTE to anyone who ever parties with me - Please don’t leave me unattended!

We also had some good news this week. After several meetings in London, Summers are now being represented by one of the leading law firms in the UK specialising in the entertainment industry www.russellslaw.co.uk Its really great to have such a well respected company on board.

Hi Guys,

We’ve been talking to lots of you, and you keep asking us what the highlights of 2011 were for us. We have so many good ones but here are a few that came to mind below:

All the press coverage, including these couple of quotes we really liked:

“The supremely catchy 364, is a perfect mix of Def Leppard harmonies and Bon Jovi arena-rock pretensions, making it a very tasty proposition indeed. With a cool image and all the right contacts, they are certainly one of the brightest Summers we`ve had in the UK for a long time” Classic Rock AOR magazine

“364 is certainly better than the last Def Leppard album and that`s no mean feat. This will prove a hit with almost anyone” Powerplay Magazine

All our new friends across the pond including the fabulous K*Chele Magazine

Playing two stages at Guilfest (especially The Big Cheese Tent) and Supporting Tyketto

The support received from radio stations around the world, and the fact we gained so many rotation slots on so many different shows. Told You So was the 3rd most requested song for indie bands last year, and we had more songs in the top 20 from Canadian radio station RadioRockcafe.com

Meeting, having a beer with, and thanking the guys at ARFM for all their support & help.

Our video Sometimes reaching number 42 in the most watched music videos of the week when uploaded to YouTube. It managed to beat the likes of Bon Jovi and Def Leppard (to name a few) and Too Late was on course to do better until our little problem with Youtube.

However, the best part of 2011 for all of us was seeing our Fanbase grow around the World. There are not many countries where we don’t have a fan and we’re very proud of it.

We’re on course for world domination!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Hi Guys,

Happy New Year to you all and welcome to 2012. We hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year and have a great year ahead.

This Christmas was nice for us as we all spent time with families and close friends eating and drinking far too much. And thankfully none of us woke up to a lump of coal on Christmas day, as Santa looked kindly on us all and we got some very cool new toys to play with. On New Years Eve everyone went out and partied very hard which lead to us all sleeping for the majority of New Years day (not together of course).

Also, we hope you guys all managed to download the Live pre-production version of Heaven. So many of you did and we have been bombarded with messages to add it to our Live show. I am sure it will find its way into our set very soon.

So, what can you expect from SUMMERS this year?

We will be touring so we can get to meet more of your guys. Not just in the UK, we aim to take the Summers show to the USA and Europe.
We’re also in talks with more festival organisers.
Our album ‘364’ WILL get released this year. We promise…
We will finish off the writing phase for the second Summers album and start to record it.
A new photo shoot and even more Free Stuff will be uploaded for you guys.

Thank you all for your support in 2011. You made it an amazing year for us and we have a good feeling about 2012, and with you guys backing us, it’s destined to be a wicked year.

Howdy Folks,

Here are some photos from the gig at The Brook with Tyketto We would also like to say a huge thank you to the sell out crowd at The Talking Heads on Friday. You made sooo much noise we could not actually hear Popey…Result!!! lol.

This week we are doing a Spanish interview with La Estadea (we can’t speak Spanish but I think Ricky can say “Get your coat love you pulled & my house is your house”)…Anyway We’ll post more information once we know when the interview is going to be published.

Now… from the title of the blog you’ll see we’re off to Wembley to watch 3 of our favourite bands on Wednesday night.

So basically, don’t expect any sense out of us for a few days after the show.

There will be some sore heads and heavy memory loss. Just how we like it and if we see you there.. mines a Jack and Coke as always… LOL …

Howdy!

I haven’t done a blog for a while so thought i’d get my type writer out and jot something for you guys out there.

As you all know we haven’t had a show for a while and are looking forward to being back on stage and doing what we enjoy the most… plus it gives me an excuse to use my new kit!! For those of you who don’t know, or haven’t bought tickets yet, we are playing at The Brook in Southampton on Friday 2^nd December and are supporting Tyketto.

We also received confirmation of our second festival appearance in 2012. As always we’ll announce further details nearer the time (organiser wants to announce it first) but I think 2012 will be a great year for Summers!

I had some free time this week (as Jase and Crash were having some hair product related domestic) and decided to design some new t-shirts for the merchandise page. Obviously we have the standard designs but I felt we needed something different… Something with an edge… I ran it past the lads and they didn’t think “I caught a rash from Crash” was very appropriate???

I didn’t see a problem with it personally…Lol.

Greetings,

I hope everyone has had a splendid weekend. Popey has collected his new Sonar drum kit, which I must say is pretty awesome. So now the lucky b*****d has 2 of Mikkey Dee’s personal drum kits. Pays to have good mates I guess. LOL.. Mikkey is a top dude and it’s always cool when he say’s to you, ”we need to sort a night out lads”. Motorhead had a great show and we got trashed during and afterwards. We all suggested a Strip club to complete the night but Jase & Crash declined…HAHAHAHA

We had a great 8 hour rehearsal yesterday. It was a long day but we cracked on and got a lot done. I’m still finding it hard to hear anything today as we only know how to play SUPER LOUD.

We have some more great news, not only are we going to be in Classic Rock AOR issue 5, We are now going to have a one page “First Glance” feature in Classic Rock AOR issue 6. Also Headbangers FM (Netherlands) will be interviewing us this Thursday but we will put the links up on facebook so you can tune in and listen.

SHOW UPDATES
