Hi Guys,

We’ve been talking to lots of you, and you keep asking us what the highlights of 2011 were for us. We have so many good ones but here are a few that came to mind below:

All the press coverage, including these couple of quotes we really liked:

“The supremely catchy 364, is a perfect mix of Def Leppard harmonies and Bon Jovi arena-rock pretensions, making it a very tasty proposition indeed. With a cool image and all the right contacts, they are certainly one of the brightest Summers we`ve had in the UK for a long time” Classic Rock AOR magazine

“364 is certainly better than the last Def Leppard album and that`s no mean feat. This will prove a hit with almost anyone” Powerplay Magazine

All our new friends across the pond including the fabulous K*Chele Magazine

Playing two stages at Guilfest (especially The Big Cheese Tent) and Supporting Tyketto

The support received from radio stations around the world, and the fact we gained so many rotation slots on so many different shows. Told You So was the 3rd most requested song for indie bands last year, and we had more songs in the top 20 from Canadian radio station RadioRockcafe.com

Meeting, having a beer with, and thanking the guys at ARFM for all their support & help.

Our video Sometimes reaching number 42 in the most watched music videos of the week when uploaded to YouTube. It managed to beat the likes of Bon Jovi and Def Leppard (to name a few) and Too Late was on course to do better until our little problem with Youtube.

However, the best part of 2011 for all of us was seeing our Fanbase grow around the World. There are not many countries where we don’t have a fan and we’re very proud of it.

We’re on course for world domination!!!

Summers live at The Brook

Hi Guys,

Happy New Year to you all and welcome to 2012. We hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year and have a great year ahead.

This Christmas was nice for us as we all spent time with families and close friends eating and drinking far too much. And thankfully none of us woke up to a lump of coal on Christmas day, as Santa looked kindly on us all and we got some very cool new toys to play with. On New Years Eve everyone went out and partied very hard which lead to us all sleeping for the majority of New Years day (not together of course).

Also, we hope you guys all managed to download the Live pre-production version of Heaven. So many of you did and we have been bombarded with messages to add it to our Live show. I am sure it will find its way into our set very soon.

 So, what can you expect from SUMMERS this year?

  • We will be touring so we can get to meet more of your guys. Not just in the UK, we aim to take the Summers show to the USA and Europe.
  • We’re also in talks with more festival organisers.
  • Our album ‘364’ WILL get released this year. We promise…
  • We will finish off the writing phase for the second Summers album and start to record it.
  • A new photo shoot and even more Free Stuff will be uploaded for you guys.

Thank you all for your support in 2011. You made it an amazing year for us and we have a good feeling about 2012, and with you guys backing us, it’s destined to be a wicked year.

Summers with Tyketto at The Brook

Howdy Folks,

Here are some photos from the gig at The Brook with Tyketto We would also like to say a huge thank you to the sell out crowd at The Talking Heads on Friday. You made sooo much noise we could not actually hear Popey…Result!!! lol.

Howdy!

I haven’t done a blog for a while so thought i’d get my type writer out and jot something for you guys out there.

As you all know we haven’t had a show for a while and are looking forward to being back on stage and doing what we enjoy the most… plus it gives me an excuse to use my new kit!! For those of you who don’t know, or haven’t bought tickets yet, we are playing at The Brook in Southampton on Friday 2nd December and are supporting Tyketto.

We also received confirmation of our second festival appearance in 2012. As always we’ll announce further details nearer the time (organiser wants to announce it first) but I think 2012 will be a great year for Summers!

I had some free time this week (as Jase and Crash were having some hair product related domestic) and decided to design some new t-shirts for the merchandise page. Obviously we have the standard designs but I felt we needed something different… Something with an edge… I ran it past the lads and they didn’t think “I caught a rash from Crash” was very appropriate???

I didn’t see a problem with it personally…Lol.

Fish Sticks!!!

Greetings,

I hope everyone has had a splendid weekend. Popey has collected his new Sonar drum kit, which I must say is pretty awesome. So now the lucky b*****d has 2 of Mikkey Dee’s personal drum kits. Pays to have good mates I guess. LOL.. Mikkey is a top dude and it’s always cool when he say’s to you, ”we need to sort a night out lads”. Motorhead had a great show and we got trashed during and afterwards. We all suggested a Strip club to complete the night but Jase & Crash declined…HAHAHAHA

 We had a great 8 hour rehearsal yesterday. It was a long day but we cracked on and got a lot done. I’m still finding it hard to hear anything today as we only know how to play SUPER LOUD.

 We have some more great news, not only are we going to be in Classic Rock AOR issue 5, We are now going to have a one page “First Glance” feature in Classic Rock AOR issue 6.  Also Headbangers FM (Netherlands) will be interviewing us this Thursday but we will put the links up on facebook so you can tune in and listen.

Meetings, Strippers & Uberrock

Hi All,
Hope you are all well and have had a good weekend? Last week was very eventful and this week is shaping up to be too..

Crash Summers in LondonLast week, Seppy and I made our way to London to meet a top music solicitor (Seppy moaned and branded me cheap because I booked the slow train,but I was saving my pennies for later on… p.s.Seppy you still owe me for the tube!!!) Anyway…The meeting went very well and we should have some more good news about that to follow in a later blog.

After the meeting we decided to go for a few drinks, which, of course, lead us to a strip club. What we were not told was it was a transsexual club…LOL… I would love to tell you Seppy had a dance and that’s how we found out, but when a chick has bigger hands than you alarm bells start to go off and you make a quick exit! Let’s just say we never stuck around for our drinks…Hahahaha.

For those who haven’t seen this yet, we had a cool little review on www.uberrock.co.uk The lads and I are completely overwhelmed with the amount of support ‘364’ is getting from the media, and also from all you guys out there, so THANK YOU all so much once again.

We are all going to be extremely busy in the coming weeks as we will be rehearsing very hard for show dates which start again in December. We’re all really excited about getting back on stage and are working around the clock to create a new show for you all.

I know it’s been mentioned briefly before but work has begun on material for our second album. I know we have not released ‘364’ yet, but I promise it won’t be too long. Due to contract offers etc, we have spent a lot of time going through paperwork and meetings with our solicitors to find the right deal for SUMMERS to ensure the release of our album goes as well as possible.

Finally…..Last week Popey went to a couple of Motorhead’s Gigs. Bristol was cancelled due to Lemmy not being up to it, so guess what, in true Popey style he went out with Mikkey and got absolutely wasted!!! However the London show was “awesome” and Popey partially sobered up for it. We’re all heading to the Southampton show tonight, and are really looking forward to seeing you there. Mines a Jack & Coke if you’re offering :)

SUMMERS hang with Motorhead PART II

It’s nearly a year since we partied with Mikkey Dee of Motorhead (we’re not worthy… we’re not worthy… sorry) and Steve Conte from Michael Monroe but we’re pleased to say that it’s all about to happen again (minus Mr Conte). The iconic Motorhead are back in the UK.  These dudes seriously know how to rock a venue and Popey will be kicking off at the Bristol show as he is finally collecting his new signature Sonar drum kit (Like he needs two), as played by Mikkey Dee himself on the 2010 tour. The rest of SUMMERS will be catching up with Motorhead when they play at The Guildhall in Southampton next week.

Crash and myself are off to London on Wednesday to meet with the lawyers about some pending deals we currently have on the table. However my dear blonde friend has been more occupied in finding out the nearest bars and strip clubs for after the meeting to unwind from a hard days work. So basically… don’t expect any sense from either of us the following day.

Finally… We may be trekking to Manchester this weekend to meet with a potential stakeholder in the band. Obviously I can’t give too much away but as always we’ll keep you updated to the best of our abilities.
