Crash SummersHi Everyone,
First of all, thank you to everyone who came down to support us at The Firehouse in Southampton on Saturday night. It was nice to see loads of familiar faces after the Christmas break, and also play a few new Live arrangements which we’ve been working on.

There has been a lot of work going on behind the scenes over the past few weeks. Also, we were recently approached about having our own brand of Real Ale which was an interesting thought… however Mr Pope is a big fan of the stuff and would never turn up to a show sober again. We have also been working on some new t-shirt designs which are looking really cool.

Speaking of Popey… If some of you don’t already know, our beloved drummer is a big fan of the Bee Gees. As there was a tribute act in town on Friday he decided to book some tickets (and dragged Ricky along). However when they arrived at the venue and mentioned how excited they were about seeing the act, they quickly found out that Popey hadn’t booked tickets to the Bee Gees at all, BUT, the Bob Marley tribute instead! Quite a contrast in genre isn’t it… However we’re pleased to report that Popey had a wicked night, and Ricky….. well, he won’t be asking Popey to book any future events.

We’re looking forward to playing The Swan in Woolston this Saturday night. It’s been a long time and a good crowd is anticipated which we always love. If you’re in the area, get yourselves involved.

Hi Guys,

We’ve been talking to lots of you, and you keep asking us what the highlights of 2011 were for us. We have so many good ones but here are a few that came to mind below:

All the press coverage, including these couple of quotes we really liked:

“The supremely catchy 364, is a perfect mix of Def Leppard harmonies and Bon Jovi arena-rock pretensions, making it a very tasty proposition indeed. With a cool image and all the right contacts, they are certainly one of the brightest Summers we`ve had in the UK for a long time” Classic Rock AOR magazine

“364 is certainly better than the last Def Leppard album and that`s no mean feat. This will prove a hit with almost anyone” Powerplay Magazine

All our new friends across the pond including the fabulous K*Chele Magazine

Playing two stages at Guilfest (especially The Big Cheese Tent) and Supporting Tyketto

The support received from radio stations around the world, and the fact we gained so many rotation slots on so many different shows. Told You So was the 3rd most requested song for indie bands last year, and we had more songs in the top 20 from Canadian radio station RadioRockcafe.com

Meeting, having a beer with, and thanking the guys at ARFM for all their support & help.

Our video Sometimes reaching number 42 in the most watched music videos of the week when uploaded to YouTube. It managed to beat the likes of Bon Jovi and Def Leppard (to name a few) and Too Late was on course to do better until our little problem with Youtube.

However, the best part of 2011 for all of us was seeing our Fanbase grow around the World. There are not many countries where we don’t have a fan and we’re very proud of it.

We’re on course for world domination!!!

Summers live at The Brook

Hi Guys,

Happy New Year to you all and welcome to 2012. We hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year and have a great year ahead.

This Christmas was nice for us as we all spent time with families and close friends eating and drinking far too much. And thankfully none of us woke up to a lump of coal on Christmas day, as Santa looked kindly on us all and we got some very cool new toys to play with. On New Years Eve everyone went out and partied very hard which lead to us all sleeping for the majority of New Years day (not together of course).

Also, we hope you guys all managed to download the Live pre-production version of Heaven. So many of you did and we have been bombarded with messages to add it to our Live show. I am sure it will find its way into our set very soon.

So, what can you expect from SUMMERS this year?

  • We will be touring so we can get to meet more of your guys. Not just in the UK, we aim to take the Summers show to the USA and Europe.
  • We’re also in talks with more festival organisers.
  • Our album ‘364’ WILL get released this year. We promise…
  • We will finish off the writing phase for the second Summers album and start to record it.
  • A new photo shoot and even more Free Stuff will be uploaded for you guys.

Thank you all for your support in 2011. You made it an amazing year for us and we have a good feeling about 2012, and with you guys backing us, it’s destined to be a wicked year.

Hi Guys,

Xmas RickyWe can’t believe another week has passed. As some of you know we trekked up to London town on Wednesday to watch 3 of our favourite bands. We were on a high for the entire show.  It is a rarity to see 3 rock giants in one show, and we’re pleased to say we were there and bought the t-shirt (then Ricky lost it).

Steel Panther opened the show and were a great support act as they really got the crowd going (and many people considered them the best band of the night). Motley Crüe had an awesome stage show, which included the drums on a roller coaster, and Def Leppard just churned out hit after hit and had everyone on there feet singing along.

The best thing about seeing great bands is that it inspires us to get in the studio and write. So we decided to spend Sunday doing just that. It was a very productive day (surprising we know) and we are racking up a nice little catalogue of songs for the second album.

Now, we have never done this before BUT, as you guys have been SO good to us throughout 2011 with all your continued support, we wanted to do something to say thank you. So we have decided to upload a pre-production version of a song called ‘Heaven’ which is available to all our registered members to download for FREE.

It was done and dusted within a few hours this weekend but as it’s a Live acoustic version with warts and all, it will only be featured until Monday 26th December (Boxing day). Then, as they say on those amazing adverts “we will destroy the plates, so you will own a limited edition coin” (or something like that). Well we won’t do any destroying, well not intentionally anyway… but we won’t upload the song again. In fact, we could have found a better statement to use but Popey really liked it and wouldn’t let us take it out. Drummers hey… J

Before we wrap up, as mentioned before, you can now check out our interview with La Estadea and see what Crash & Jase have to say.

And finally, we would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Try not to eat and drink too much…cough…yer right…who are we kiddin’… Popey’s got a bottle of Jack Daniels sauce to put on his turkey so he can combine drinking and eating at the same time. Game plan or what! Fingers crossed our next blog will tell you that Ricky got some Christmas presents too. However at the moment, rumours are floating around the North Pole that he has been a bad lad this year…tut tut. If only everyone could be as well behaved and angelic as Crash & Jase…Lol.

Have a good one dudes and dudets!

Howdy!

I haven’t done a blog for a while so thought i’d get my type writer out and jot something for you guys out there.

As you all know we haven’t had a show for a while and are looking forward to being back on stage and doing what we enjoy the most… plus it gives me an excuse to use my new kit!! For those of you who don’t know, or haven’t bought tickets yet, we are playing at The Brook in Southampton on Friday 2nd December and are supporting Tyketto.

We also received confirmation of our second festival appearance in 2012. As always we’ll announce further details nearer the time (organiser wants to announce it first) but I think 2012 will be a great year for Summers!

I had some free time this week (as Jase and Crash were having some hair product related domestic) and decided to design some new t-shirts for the merchandise page. Obviously we have the standard designs but I felt we needed something different… Something with an edge… I ran it past the lads and they didn’t think “I caught a rash from Crash” was very appropriate???

I didn’t see a problem with it personally…Lol.

Till next time people…

Popey

Ps,

  • What’s the difference between bird flu and swine flu???
  • If you have bird flu, you need tweetment. If you have swine flu, you need oink-ment.

Summers live at The Brook December 2I know a lot of people have been asking and we’re pleased to confirm that SUMMERS will be opening for Tyketto at The Brook in Southampton on Friday 2nd December. Contact the guys for tickets now.

We have also been featured in this months Powerplay magazine on page 68. Here is a sneak preview of what they had to say about us:

“364″ in a huge slice of AOR with massive area rock pretensions From the song through to the production, its got Def Leppard & Bon Jovi written all over it. It has massive appeal.”

Crash and Jase are in London next week for a meeting with some lawyers. Don’t worry… they haven’t done anything wrong. It’s all band related. However both aren’t driving so no doubt they’ll end up in a strip club or seedy bar or both if Crash has his way. They’re the most unpredictable duo when left unsupervised.

It’s nearly the weekend people…enjoy!!!

Ps, If you missed Summers radio interview on the Big Mike Radio Program (New York) you can listen to it again by clicking here. The show is not recommend to our younger fans, but it is funny as the boys recorded this at stupid o’clock and you can hear this in the answers.

Dudes and Dudettes!

We decided to take some downtime this weekend and all parted to cause trouble in different areas of the UK. Crash and Ricky trekked up to Watford with some friends of ours ‘The Buzz Junkies’ and proceeded to drink the bar dry and most likely terrorise anyone in close proximity. Standard stuff really. Popey popped out for a quiet drink and to watch a mates band… BUT if anyone has seen him can you let us know as I think he hit the whiskey around midnight and it usually goes downhill from there. And me …well I did the opposite and chilled the hell out this weekend. I’m having a break from the madness as started training again so trying to be a good boy (let’s see how long that lasts). Crash was NOT happy when I said no to a night out.

This month we’re looking forward to catching up with Motorhead and hopefully repeating the events of last year. We are currently pencilling in a photo-shoot around the middle of the month so we’ll have some brand new shots of us to show you guys. And as you can see, our good friend Bob Gwilliam has spent the majority of his weekend revamping and giving our website a cheeky little spring clean. It is looking great so thanks for your hard work on this Bobbins. We’ll add this to the list of outstanding I.O.U’s we have with you…haha. I think it’s more like a scroll now!!!

Anyway… I’ll be quiet now but have a good week everyone!!

Jase
